Everyday Objects is a still life created with acrylic on 16 x 20-inch canvas in Virginia Commonwealth University's Project Seminar Painting Class. In the spring semester, students were to pick objects that they used nearly every day, arrange them in a favorable composition, and paint it. Lauryn chose a small radio, one of her fashionable boots, a body wash container, a makeup bag, and her makeup brushes. There were many textures to capture in the painting to complete in a week such as the smooth wood, the shiny bottle and radio, the leathery shoe, and the fuzzy makeup brushes. Lauryn experimented and approached each part of the painting with care, making sure to add as much detail as she could.
