Planet Gucci Textile Prints
Passion & Creativity for a Sustainable Future
Planet Gucci textiles have been implemented in garments, bags, luggage, shoes, and accessories. Inspired by the unique eclectic prints of Gucci and a sustainable future for all workers, Lauryn created several prints to harness these ideas. The nebula motifs signify rebirth as de Sarno becomes the new creative director of the Gucci House. Adorned in stars and planets, Gucci consumers will be ready to own the streets of the Milky Way in these otherworldly prints.
Beyond the surface
30 motifs were developed to create the final textile prints for the surface design project. Lauryn took Gucci's symbols under the era and leadership of Alessandro Michelle to bring new meaning to sustainability and workers rights. The moth symbolizes the past and present, which would signify Gucci's evolution into a brighter future. Snakes signify wisdom, knowledge, and power which are key themes in the conversation of sustainability. Ultimately, Lauryn settled on Alessandro's symbol of the worker bee, fueling the idea of the Future Hive and a better future for workers all over the globe.
