Lauryn Giddings
She’s lost in a world that doesn’t exist.
Sitting under blue eclipsing suns in lavender fields, Lauryn finds herself lost in her universe. She is currently at Virginia Commonwealth University, double majoring in fashion design and merchandising. After exploring the various parts of the fashion industry, she strives to open her own luxury fashion house and create avante-garde designs from her series, the Idalia Universe.
In this universe, Lauryn creates striking designs that reflect the various civilizations, events, and walks of life across Confederation Tenn. With avante-garde designs that challenge new corset work, unconventional materials and media, and award-winning storytelling, Lauryn captures various themes she’s passionate about in and outside the Idalia Universe. Lauryn often captures themes of workers' ethics in her work and conversations about political corruption, untraditional beauty, and mental health. The Book of Ravana, Lillian Biles x Lucas Belinksi, and The Heart of Kalpana Collections are notable projects that reflect these themes within the Idalia Universe. In contrast, collections such as Black Nebula and Marie’s Dairy Queens do the same outside the series.

Between Idalia Universe’s avant-garde fashion and her luxury, ready-to-wear designs and case studies, Lauryn’s goal is to ultimately use her platform to converse, donate, and make a difference in the topics reflected in her projects. Her brands will set a new standard for workers' rights, among other social issues in the luxury fashion industry.

“My goal with the Idalia Universe Series is to find myself and my place in this world and figure out what it means to be a part of it. In the Idalia Universe, this is the ultimate spiritual goal of each character. I hope that my self-discovery journey will aid others in searching for their true identities on our various journeys throughout life. Idalia creates parallel connections with our worlds, so that in learning through the characters’ losses, battles, love, and tears, we may find ourselves staring back at us on the pages.” - Lauryn Giddings, Founder of the Idalia Universe Series.
