Ravana Brookes, daughter of 10-12 politician David Brookes, is the antagonist of the novel Falling in Reverse. In the book, Ravana is infuriated that politicians, who know her father is corrupt and abusive, are supporting him. After cheating his way into positions after a great recession, Ravana's extreme negative emotions manifest, causing her to transform into a demonic entity. In coming to terms with her new abilities, she destroys Ratham City and everyone on her path as she strives to get revenge against her father and the city for supporting him. Ravana, an Agarian demon, is often seen to be glitching. In addition, her red slime and ability to create demons at a whim makes her all the more powerful as Ruth Murray, the main character of Falling in Reverse, tries to stop Ravana's 11-year destruction of the city. In the book, Ravana begins her journey of self-discovery and mending the trauma that was caused in her past. Spiders often appear when she is losing control of her emotions. The Book of Ravana Collection is a group of outfits that reflect different stages of Ravana's life throughout Falling in Reverse and the Book of Ravana spinoff series.
In the Unspoken Universe is Confederation Tenn, an alliance between four Galaxies founded long ago by Vesper Tenn. The four galaxies that make up this alliance are 10-9, 10-10, 10-11, and 10-12. Various forms of councils run each galaxy. The galaxy in which Ravana Brookes is is Galaxy 10-12, the most democratic form of government in all Confederation. A few decades before the current year of 6091, there was a war in 10-12. Many parts of the city were destroyed, and many fell into poverty. In this turmoil, many began to sell their votes, amongst other things, to get by economically. Politicians took advantage of this, and despite the Genev document being passed to criminalize buying and selling votes, it never ended. This made it harder for citizens to obtain voting rights. This chain of events has led many corrupt politicians to become high council positions, resulting in Ravana's anger that her father is running for Warden despite his abusive and corrupt past.
Ratham City
In creating Ravana's lookbook, Lauryn wanted to capture her emotional evolution. She strived to create outfits inspired by different events in her life and create symbology that would reflect her journey to finding her identity. Lauryn first started out by creating several sketches on Procreate that captured Ravana's demonic symptoms- spiders and slime- while aligning with the events taking place in her life. Knitwear is heavily used in her spinoff because as her emotions become out of control, she and the things around her become cooler.
