Self-portrait 

Created in the fall semester of Lauryn's freshman year at Virginia Commonwealth University, this 11 x 14 inch ink portrait was assigned in a Surface Research Class. Students were to take a picture of themselves, grid it, and draw it on a piece of bristol paper. All of the patterns had to be created uniquely by the artist and a minimum of 6 different patterns had to be prevalent in the piece.
